New housing shortage

Renters and property owners in Klamath Falls echo similar sentiments to Wall's. There's plenty of demand, but not enough supply.

Kim Elliot, president of the Klamath Rental Owners Association, estimates that current vacancy rates are at about 1 percent. The volunteer group represents more than 170 members across 3,500 rental units in the county.

"The problem is there's not that much choice to go to," Elliot said. "That's where the big problems are: again, lack of supply."
